Flexible, High-Silica Fabric for Welding Protection and Extreme Temperatures up to 2300F
Woven from yarn that is composed of more than 96% silica, Z-Sil™ Silica Fabrics provide superior protection from high temperatures, sparks, and slag. Z-Sil™ Silica Fabrics are treated with an inorganic high temperature coating that improves abrasion resistance and remains with the fabric even at high temperatures.
We offer Silica Fabrics in 2 weights: 18 ounces per square yard for applications where flexibility is important or 36 ounces per square yard for applications where superior insulation is necessary. Both styles can be laminated with Z-Flex Aluminized lamination for radiant heat protection.
Z-Sil™ Silica Fabric supports continuous operating temperatures up to 1800°F / 980°C and peak temperatures up to 2300°F / 1260°C.
Because of its superior temperature resistance, silica heat resistant fabric is ideal for protecting people and equipment during metal cutting, stainless steel welding, and heavy welding operations.
Z-Sil Silica Fabric has been tested to the following standards:
- Tested to the ANSI/FM 4950 Standard
Common Applications
- Welding blankets
- Welding curtains
